CAF Converter for Logic Pro App Reviews
Easy CAF Converter does exactly what it says it does. It takes your apple loops that are in CAF file format and converts them to AIFF or WAV files so they can be used in any audio application – not just Logic Pro, Soundtrack or Garageband. After downloading, I launched the application. It immediately found all my apple loops on my computer without me doing anything, had all selected (but you could unselect the folders of loops you didn’t want to convert if desired), I told it where I wanted the converted files to be saved and within minutes, it converted 4.5GB of apple loops. I didn’t time it but it couldn’t have taken more than 10 minutes. I was working on a song in Pro Tools 12.5 while it converted. When it was done, I opened a new Workspace in Pro Tools, selected the folder I told it to save the converted loops in and tried audtioning one with the song playing. The loop and all other loops played back seamlessly in time with the song and just like that, my problem properly working with apple loops in Pro Tools was solved. Works perfectly. Couldn’t be happier. Took no time to learn. Get this thing. For Pro Tools users and users of other DAW’s that don’t support Apple loops, all your looping problems have been solved. Don’t waste time with Apple Loops Utility. It doesnt work well at all and is no longer supported or updated. Easy CAF Converter is your answer. Thank you Young Ho Lee at Audio Helper Project. I owe you a drink next time you come to Los Angeles.
I would like to apologize abouy my previous comment. It was an Apple´s fault. A problem in Finder causes Easy CAF to crashes all time. Now, problem solved and E-CAF is running like a charm. Sorry for that.
Now It works as expected
Version 1.0.5 now works fine and converts all Loops as expected.
Doesn’t convert caf files
Don’t buy this if you want to convert caf files.
Easy Breezy, The app was self explanatory and did what it says, It took all of My CAF apple loops and converted them to 24bit wav files quick and clean. Now I can use these in Cubase and Protools. It was worth $5.
I tried to buy another app “Audio converter Pro” and it crashed, wouldn’t keep the folder structure. This app just works, converted everything in less than 5 minutes. Great job - and the app is only .3 MB vs 10+ MB
Used it to convert all my old Soundtrack Pro (a now-obsolete program) effects to WAV so I can use them with Premiere. Extremely fast and easy. Converted the GarageBand loops too.
Works perfectly...
Works beautifully. Fast, efficient (keeps file structure) and simple to use. I was converting my caf files with Adobe Audition, which has a batch function, but this is SO fast and simple (and cheap!). Now all my loops are on my MPC and I'm a very happy camper.
Does exactly what it claims.
Launched it, selected output options, hit Convert and walked away. A few minutes later, done. I love that it mimicked the original directory structure so that all samples are nicely organized.
Does Nothing
Useless Software. Requested a Refund.
Can't find my loop files, no option to browse to them
There's no file browser to go to my loop files and it just gives me an error that I have no loops installed.
Great tool
I would give this tool 5 stars if it could export the CAF midi files. Other than that, it is a wonderful tool and long overdue.
Doesn’t work with Symlinks
Was running out of space on my SSD, so I moved my library to my RAID and symlinked it. This app doesn’t follow the symlink even though Logic doesn’t care. Wasted $5 because you can’t browse to the directory where the library is.
Works flawlessly.
I used it to convert my Mainstage 3 and Garage Band .caf files to .wav files. It found them all, and converted them in about 10 minutes. 22 gb when all done. I had a problem “seeing” the entire program on my MacBook Air, 3 year old computer. I solved the issue by using Airplay to my TV set, so it had higher resolution, hence smaller text. My computer screen had the Convert button cut off! It got the job done flawlessly.

does one thing really well
I tried to buy another app “Audio converter Pro” and it crashed, wouldn’t keep the folder structure. This app just works, converted everything in less than 5 minutes. Great job - and the app is only .3 MB vs 10+ MB
